Each year, creatives around the world celebrate World Photography Day. World Photography Day is an annual, worldwide celebration of the art, craft, science and history of photography. World Photography Day is celebrated every year on August 19th.

The beautiful thing about photography is that photos can have such an impact on so many lives around us. Photography is a unique creative form of expression because it is both an art and a personal collection of memories. It documents history and memories. It allows you to create an image in your mind before creating it with your camera.

And without a doubt, the essential role that photography plays in our future lives is incredible.

You don’t take a photograph, you make it.
— Ansel Adams

Photography surpasses the boundaries of language, and is a medium that has a universal value. This value increases over time. Think about it—a photo that make today may be nice, but when you look back on that same photo one, five, or 10 years later, the feeling about it is completely different.

And the more rare the image, the more valuable it is.

At Picture Project CLT, we love photography and seeing the photos you create—whether with your cell phone or with your professional camera (we mention “creativity” a lot in this post because it’s engrained in us—after all, we are part of Charlotte’s creative community).
